Laurie Layton Schapira is a Jungian Analyst in New York City. She recently completed a three-year term as President of the Board at the C. G. Jung Institute of New York, where she teaches Norse mythology and the Psychology of the Feminine. Since the publication of The Cassandra Complex, she has lectured worldwide and made appearances on television and radio – PBS, Discovery Channel, History Channel, TVE Spain, BBC, WBAI FM, and the National Public Radio program “The Ring and I” in which she discussed Norse myth in Richard Wagner’s operas.
Laurie is also a filmmaker and has written and directed numerous shorts and documentaries, most notably Women in China: Up Against the Wall and The Prophecy of the Seeress, which has screened in New York, Los Angeles, London, Reykjavik, Copenhagen, Barcelona, and Rio de Janeiro.
