Aside from chapter I, the essays in this volume were originally prepared as lectures
given at the Eranos meetings in Ascona, Switzerland. All were eventually republished,
often with extensive revisions, in Jung's Collected Works. The material in Chapter IV
was revisited in greater depth by Jung in lectures given on Bailey Island, Maine, and
in New York in 1936-37, notes from which have been published in "Dream Symbols of
the Individuation Process: Notes of C.G. Jung's Seminars on Wolfgang Pauli's Dreams"
(Princeton/Philemon; 2019), which is also in the Library's collection.
Contents:
I. The meaning of individuation
[First published in "The Integration of The Personality" (in English);
subsequently revised in German as "Bewusstein, Unbewusstes

German version as "Conscious, Unconscious, and Individuation"

to Alchemy" (CW 12, Section II, ¶44-¶331) and then
further amplified in "Dream Symbols of the Individuation
