Hardbound; xii + 451 pp., including bibliographic references in footnotes,
60 color and black-and-white illustrations, an appendix, a bibliography,
and an index.
The first edition of CW 9/i was published in 1959; the second edition
was published in 1969. The 1969, second edition is the terminal
version of CW 9/i, as reflected in Princeton's digital edition of
the Collected Works, which is also among the Library's holdings.
Vol. 9 of the Collected Works was published in two parts
(of which this is the first), both of which constitute the
eighth volume to be published.
Publication histories of the 12 principal papers and the one
appended item that are included in CW 9/i are provided in
the table of contents, footnotes to the text, editorial notes,
and the translator's note. Notably, earlier versions of the
following three papers were first published in English under
the title "The Integration of the Personality" (translated by
Stanley Dell; Farrar & Rhinehart, Inc.; New York; 1939),
copies of which are among the Library's holdings:
• "Archetypes of the Collective Unconscious"
(previously published under the same title)
• "Conscious, Unconscious, and Individuation"
(previously published as "The Meaning of Individuation")
• "A Study in the Process of Individuation"
(previously published under the same title)
