This is a Reference book for use only in the Library. Hardbound; viii + 138 pp., including bibliographic references in footnotes and 8 black-and-white illustrations between p. 98 and p. 99. "Flying Saucers: A Modern Myth of Things Seen in the Skies" was first published as "Ein moderner Mythus: Von Dingen, die am Himmel gesehen werden" (Zurich and Stuttgart, 1958). This material was republished in Vol. 10 (Part V) of Jung's Collected Works ("Civilization in Transition"). The three items in this edition that are included in the section "On Flying Saucers" were extracted from Vol. 18 (Part XI) of Jung's Collected Works ("The Symbolic Life"). These three items were not included in earlier editions of "Flying Saucers" (©1959). However, those editions, which are also among the Library's holdings, do include an index (compiled by A.S.B. Glover). Contents: Editorial note / W.M. [probably William McGuire] Flying saucers: A modern myth of things seen in the skies Preface to the first English edition Introductory 1. Ufos as rumours 2.
