Paperbound; xii + 333 pp., including bibliographic references in footnotes,
black-and-white plates and text figures, a bibliography, and an index.
The first edition of CW 9/ii was published in 1959; the second edition
"with corrections and minor revisions" was published in 1968, followed
by the fifth printing (1978) of the second edition "with corrections."
The corrected, 1978, fifth printing of the second edition is the terminal
version of CW 9/ii, as reflected in Princeton's digital edition of Jung's
Collected Works, which is also among the Library's holdings.
This English version of "Aion" was translated from the first part of
"Aion: Untersuchungen zur Symbolgeschichte" (Psychologische
Abhandlungen, VIII), published by Rascher Verglag, 1951.
Vol. 9 of the Collected Works was published in two parts
(of which this is the second), both of which constitute the
eighth volume to be published.
The first five chapters of "Aion" were previously published in English
"with small differences" in "Psyche and Symbol: A Selection from the
Writings of C.G. Jung," edited by Violet S. de Laszlo (Anchor Books;
Garden City, New York; 1958), also among the Library's holdings.
Further details of the publication history of "Aion" are provided in the
editorial notes, translator's note, foreword, and footnotes to the text.
