User Notes:
This is a Reference book for use only in the Library. Hardbound; xii + 237 pp., including two indices. The revised, fifth printing of the 1992 edition is the terminal version of CW 19, as reflected in the digital edition of Jung's Collected Works, which is also among the Library's holdings. Vol. 19 of the Collected Works was the twentieth to be published. From the "Editorial Note" to the first (1979) edition: "In the compilation of the following list of published writings, it has been the intention to record (through 1975) the initial publication of each original work of C.G. Jung, each translation, and subsequent substantial revisions and/or expansions thereof, with reciprocal cross-references. The items are ordered chronologically by years of publication, and within the year to the best of our knowledge (books first); items that cannot be dated closely enough appear at the end of the year's listings. . . ." The Revised Edition of 1992 includes fewer listings for translations of Jung’s writings into languages other than English and German; but it does include entries for Jung’s publications that appeared from 1976 through 1991 (inclusive); e.g., The Zofingia Lectures, The Freud/Jung Letters, etc. From William McGuire's “Editorial Note to the [1992] Revised Edition”: "This edition, succeeding the first, which was published in 1979, has been prepared to meet the needs primarily of students of C.G. Jung’s writings working in English. Accordingly, it records (through 1991) only publications in English and in German, besides the very few writings in other languages for which Jung was, in some sense, directly responsible. Those include a few short works that he wrote in French." Copies of both the 1979 and 1992 editions are available in Reference. At present, one copy of the 1979 edition is available for circulation.
