Doorways of Initiation

Oregon Friends of Jung, in partnership with The Pacific Northwest Society of Jungian Analysts (PNSJA), continues our series of seminars designed to deepen your knowledge of Jungian psychology. You’ll have an opportunity to learn from and engage with Analysts who are experts in their fields.

The process of individuation leads us through a series of initiations throughout our lifetime. Initiations urge—and sometimes thrust—us into transitional terrain where we find ourselves disconnected from the familiar, compelled to confront unknown forces, and invited to discover the new. In this seminar, we will explore potential doorways of initiation. These include inner energies, at times forbidden, which well up and press toward growth; bodily illness; and collective events like the pandemic. Through presentation, discussion and engagement with fairy tales and dreams, we will explore how we might consent to the initiations that arrive and serve our becoming more of who we are.

Cost

• 12 hours of instruction: $205 (OFJ members: $195)

• Continuing Education Credits are available from PNSJA, with one hour of CE credit for each hour of attendance. CEUs will be available for purchase, at a cost of $15, which will cover all CEUs earned over the six-session seminar.

Reading

Reading assignments and material will be sent to participants in advance of the start of the seminar, and may be supplemented during the seminar.

Seminar Leaders

	Kristin Funk, MA, LCSW, is a Jungian Analyst in private practice in Eugene, Oregon. She received her diploma in 2019 from the C.G. Jung Institute Pacific Northwest and is an active member of the Pacific Northwest Society of Jungian Analysts. Prior to starting her private practice in 2010, Kris was engaged in clinical and community work, and university-based research, development and teaching.
	Maribeth Kallemeyn, Ph.D, is a Jungian analyst and clinical psychologist in private practice in Salem, Oregon. She has been in clinical practice since 2001. She completed her analytic training with the C.G. Jung Institute Pacific Northwest in 2018, and she is a member of the Pacific Northwest Society of Jungian Analysts.
