Borderline States of Mind as Reflected Through Alchemical Imagery

workshop:

The workshop will be an application an extension of Jung’s study, “The Psychology of the Transference” (C.W. 16). The twenty slides from the alchemical work, The Rosarium Philosophorum will be used. Special attention will be given to the discovery and transformation of the unconscious couple that can strongly determine the patterns of interaction between people. The material covered will be focused upon clinical issues but these will readily apply to the everyday life of couples.

NATHAN SCHWARTZ-SALANT, PH.D. is a Jungian analyst trained in Zurich, and in practice in New York City. He is a member of the C.G. Jung Training Board and teaches in that program and others in New York. He has published widely and has lectured in many cities in America and abroad. He is the author of Narcissism and Character Transformation (Inner City Books); a book about borderline personality is forthcoming in 1987 (Chiron Productions). He is an editor of Chiron: A Review of Jungian Analysis.
