Vol. 6 of the Collected Works was the 16th to be published. Except for the appendix, this material was first published in German as "Psychologische Typen" by Rascher Verlag, Zurich, 1921. The first English translation by H.G. Baynes was published under the title "Psychological Types" in 1923 by Kegan Paul, London, and Harcourt, Brace and Co., New York. This first English edition is also among the Library's holdings. Additional information on the publication history of this material is provided in the editorial note and forewords included in CW 6. Notably, the essay "A psychological theory of types" was previously published in English in the book "Modern Man in Search of a Soul" (translated by W.S. Dell and Carey F.
