Jung\, we will examine the dilemma of the INFP (Introverted\, Intuitive\, Feeling\, Perceptive) type living in a predominately ESTJ (Extroverted\, Sensation\, Thinking\, Judgemental) masculine ethos. Typically\, INFP persons experience similar problems and challenges in dreams and in life. Often misunderstood and mistreated\, they may feel like strangers in a strange land. However\, we must recognize that as we enter an Einsteinian-Aquarian age\, this more “feminine\,” childlike\, communal\, and interior orientation is actively needed. \nThe lecture will present a general perspective on Jung’s typology and how it fits into his overall psychology. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of understanding types as a dynamic energy system\, and not as a way of classifying people.

Sophia can help us begin to know the process of recognizing the sacred in the commonplace in our everyday lives; then we would be able to see “the Kingdom of Heaven which is spread upon the earth.” Alice teaches in the gentlest possible way the most profound truth of all: “The dove can only be released from the stone through love…”

DESCRIPTION:In this lecture we shall explore homeopathy as a process of soul-making\, a creative aligning of the soul of the outer world with the inner soul. Through a careful description of this system of therapeutics brought into relation with the psychology of C.G. Jung\, we shall find that homeopathy re-discovers for our time the secret of the Alchemical art: that psyche is the inner essence of outer things. Archetypal images in the mineral\, plant\, and animal worlds are presented along with a description of the freeing of the soul qualities from the material aspect of these realms through dilution and potentialization. Then\, the suggestion that psychological healing is complete only when the capacity to perceive the soul in the outer world is explored. The aim is to show that soul work is a homeopathic art.

What is the nature and excitement which makes a World Series or Super Bowl better attended than church or synagogue?  \nThis lecture will explore the historical and sacred roots of the game or contest as a foundation for our contemporary understanding. The archetypal dynamisms in the game continue to exert tremendous influence upon our individual and collective lives even thought the context of modern sports is no longer sacred but secular. Attention will be given to the symbolic material of dreams and fantasies of individuals to discover the impulse hidden in the archetype but largely misunderstood and undervalued in our time.

DESCRIPTION:“Reading” a post-modern film is not easy for those brought up on modern cinema. The content is often disturbing and the style is frequently strange. New kinds of protagonists have replaced the familiar hero and survivor figures\, and familiar conventions of film narration are continually being challenged. Yet often there is a gripping intensity to the stories that are told in this new way. Among recent attempts to establish this new film style\, David Lynch’s Blue Velvet stands out as a genuine mythic achievement. This is a complex work of art that records the emergence of new archetypal solutions to the problems left by the modern era. \nAfter the special showing of the film\, Dr. Beebe will conduct an inquiry into its imagery\, which probes the deep wounds that modern culture and the myth of the hero that informs it have left for post-modern men and women to resolve.
